News! Young Carers Steering Group

Derbyshire Young Carers Service is introducing a Young Carers Steering Group to help shape the future of Young Carers Services in Derbyshire.

They're inviting representatives from health, statutory and voluntary organisations to come together to look at ways that Young Carers are identifies, signposted and supported in Derbyshire as well as ways that services can be enhanced or improved to increase support.

Key themes for discussion will be from local and national agendas as well as issues identified from local Young Carers and their families.

News! Clean Air Day

The Uk's first ever National Clean Air Day is on Thursday 15 June.

The event coordinated locally by Public Health aims to encourage people to think about making small changes that can improve the quality of the air that we all breathe.

Whether it is leaving the car at home for the day, walking the kids to school or making longer term changes, there's lots that we can be doing to improve our air.

Join others on the 15 June on the Terrace Car Park at County Hall between 8am and 2pm, to check out some cleaner, greener methods of transportation with a fleet of electric, hydrogen and hybrid vehicles. You can also have a go on the electric bike as well as find out more about our Cycle To Work and Miles Better schemes.

Please support the event and try to encourage others to attend to find out more about the impact of air quality on health and sustainable travel.

As well as the event we are asking people to get behing the national campaign to make one simple pledge to improve air quality.

This might include pledging to leave your car at home on 15 June or walking your children to school.

Create your own pledge and submit a selfie on Twitter using #nationalcleanairday or alternatively post your pledge here: It would also be great to get a sense of how many people in the public health have made a pledge, and get as many of us as possible, walking, cycling, car sharing or catching the bus that day, so please share these with This email address is being protected from spambots.
