Microlight taking off
Further FundingThis project supported the start-up of 36 new businesses; from motorbikes, trikes, and microlights, to baby bling, cakes, and clairvoyants. From years one and two of the project, 76% of the new businesses were still trading after 12 months.A bid to the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) has been successful which means that the Work for Yourself programme can continue to be delivered in Bolsover for a further three years.

Work for Yourself

About the project...

This project worked with people with long-term health conditions or disabilities living in Bolsover district and helped them to start their own businesses.

Each client received personal support from their own Business Adviser who assisted them to develop and test their business idea through regular on-going mentoring and straight-forward business information. The help and coaching continued through business planning and launch as well as the crucial early trading phase.  Those clients who decided that self-employment is not for them were provided with information and referrals to other routes into work.

This was a joint project with Chesterfield Borough Council and assisted the creation of 36 new businesses within Bolsover district.
