2009/10 Year End

A total of 221 Bolsover residents were referred to the Gateway open days, of which a total of 61 were selected to go on the pre-employment gateway training.  Bolsover residents represented 32% of the total number of participants (189).  Remaining participants came from Chesterfield (51%), Clay Cross/North East (6%), Worksop/Bassetlaw (4%) and Derby/Alfreton/Heanor/Long Eaton (6%).  A total of 138 participants completed the Gateway training and were forwarded for interview by Tesco.

The latest interview data received by Jobcentre Plus from Tesco show that a total of 65 Bolsover residents have to date secured employment with Tesco.  It is unclear at this stage what proportion of those 65 were gateway clients.  Jobcentre Plus are also working to identify how many of the 65 were previously unemployed.

2009/10 Quarter 3

A total of 221 Bolsover residents were referred to the Gateway open days, of which a total of 61 were selected to go on the pre-employment gateway training.  Bolsover residents represented 32% of the total number of participants.  Remaining participants came from Chesterfield (51%), Clay Cross/North East (6%), Worksop/Bassetlaw (4%) and Derby/Alfreton/Heanor/Long Eaton (6%).  All participants attending the Gateway training will be guaranteed an interview with Tesco.

All those that were not selected to attend the three day pre-employment training were referred to information, advice and guidance services.

Further detail on the number of participants gaining employment at Tesco is still awaited and this is proving problematic to obtain at this stage.
